on the bluff above the entrance to Cape Pogue Pond, the house commands
views in all directions from Edgartown light house to Nantucket. The
use of cedar, natural materials, and minimal paint make the house feel
comfortable in its surroundings. Numerous decks and terraces offer many
opportunities for finding the right combination of wind and sun. A screened
in porch large enough to eat in, may be used at either end of the season
with replacement storm panels.
The scale of this house is particularly appropriate for the site and the
Vineyard. A short distance away, a guest house / carriage house is situated
in a grove of Pines. A short walk along a winding path leads one to the
shores of Cape Pogue Pond on the southern end of the property.
